Here we are at the end of a successful harvest once again. All indications are that this years’ fruit will produce another round of award-winning wines.

Clifford Bay Estate’s harvest this year included many highlights. Exciting developments included the first harvest from two new Sauvignon Blanc blocks, the select hand picking of a block of Pinot Noir grapes, and the addition of some beautiful first harvest Riesling grapes.

Usually at this time of year we are only part way through our harvest, but as the bud burst was earlier this season we were able to harvest earlier. The grapes still received the same long, slow ripening periods, producing the characteristically intense flavours evident in our wines, and we got to enjoy an Easter break. Bonus!

Look out for our first 2006 vintage wines to be released late August, early September – they’re sure to be winners.
