2007 Sauvignon Blanc Launches with a Gold Medal

What a way to start! The 2007 vintage continues a proud 10 year tradition of every Clifford Bay Sauvignon Blanc winning at least one Gold Medal.

This years' Royal New Zealand Show awarded 25 Gold Medals, 47 Silver Medals and 154 Bronze Medals from a total of 365 wine entries received.

The competition was open to all Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer, Viognier and wine varieties made in an aromatic style from any internationally recognised region.

Chairman of Judges Terry Copeland led a panel of industry experts including Jim Harre, Rex Ormandy, Simon Nunns, Jane Boyle and Lynnette Hudson.

According to Copeland, 2007 was a particularly good vintage for aromatics and this was reflected in the results with all top spots in each class won by a 2007 vintage wine.
