One of New Zealands Best Pinot Noirs - Cuisine Magazine

Recently Cuisine Magazine, and more particularly four very experienced wine judges including Steve Smith MW, embarked on a mission to find New Zealand’s best Pinot Noirs.

Close to 200 entries were submitted with wines from all of the Pinot Noir producing regions of New Zealand being represented.

The judges were determined to endorse balance, precision and subtlety equally with power and focus. Ultimately they were seeking varietal authenticity, the hallmark of a great Pinot Noir.

Our Clifford Bay Estate 2005 Marlborough Pinot Noir was rated very good to excellent and was awarded 4 stars.

The judging panel lavished praise on our Pinot Noir, having this to say;

“Seductive and sensuous red-cherry nose, and a fleshy palate whose layered charms are finely framed by vibrant acid and taut tannins. Rich yet subtle”

This 4 star result endorses what we already know. This wine is not only one of New Zealand’s best Pinot Noirs it also represents great value for money.
